چکیده

Network analysts have developed a number of techniques for identifying cohesive subgroups in networks. In general, however, no consideration is given to actors that do not belong to a given group. In this paper, we explore ways of identifying actors that are not members of a given cohesive subgroup, but who are sufficiently well tied to the group to be considered peripheral members. We then use this information to explore the structure of the network as a whole.

Analytic Sheaves in Banach Spaces

We introduce a class of analytic sheaves in a Banach space X, that we shall call cohesive sheaves. Cohesion is meant to generalize the notion of coherence from finite dimensional analysis. Accordingly, we prove the analog of Cartan’s Theorems A and B for cohesive sheaves on pseudoconvex open subsets Ω ⊂ X, provided X has an unconditional basis.

Cohesive Avoidance and Strong Reductions

An open question in reverse mathematics is whether the cohesive principle, COH, is implied by the stable form of Ramsey’s theorem for pairs, SRT2, in ω-models of RCA0. One typical way of establishing this implication would be to show that for every sequence R⃗ of subsets of ω, there is a set A that is ∆2 in R⃗ such that every infinite subset of A or A computes an R⃗-cohesive set. In this article, ...

Networks, Fields and Organizations: Micro-Dynamics, Scale and Cohesive Embeddings

Social action is situated in fields that are simultaneously composed of interpersonal ties and relations among organizations, which are both usefully characterized as social networks. We introduce a novel approach to distinguishing different network macro-structures in terms of cohesive subsets and their overlaps. We develop a vocabulary that relates different forms of network cohesion to field...

Nonconjugated red-emitting dendrimers with p-type and/or n-type peripheries.

[reaction: see text] Dendron-encapsulated materials having a benzo[c][1,2,5]thiadiazole-based red-emitting core and p-type and/or n-type peripheries were synthesized. Intra- and intermolecular energy transfer from the peripheries to the core were found to be peripheries dependent. Red-emitting electroluminescent devices with promising performance were fabricated.
